Family of Strangers: Why We Connect

FabricWorkshopMuseum-06_Louis_Kahn_Portrait_CityTower_KahnStruct[2].jpg

This event is organized and presented by University of the Arts.

Spark-Fuel-Ignite! is a collaboration between Hallahan High School, Science Leadership Academy@Beeber, Charter High School for Architecture + Design, String Theory High School, Philadelphia Public History Truck, and The University of the Arts’ Museum Studies Department to further build awareness and diversification of Philadelphia’s design community.

These students went through a design-thinking co-creation process with local community partners. While testing prototypes to explore the concept of “family,” this diverse group realized: “humans have more in common than we have differences”. The exhibit encourages finding connections with strangers.

Join the SFI! team to participate in a "maker" cardboard workshop, test student prototypes, and experience the pop-up exhibit, "Family of Strangers: Why We Connect". Snacks/refreshments provided.
